Antique Savoyard wooden dough bowl - large 8"x28¼"

A superb, deep dough bowl made of mountain pine in the Haute Savoie eastern alpine region of France at the end of the nineteenth century. Wooden vessels like this were originally used to mix bread dough. Today, they make for a lovely centerpiece display or storage piece beneath a table or in the kitchen.
