Antique rectangular mirror w/ lacquered black frame - floor-length 66½" x 20"

A large, slender floor-length mirror from the nineteenth century, France, featuring a black lacquered frame and original mercury mirror. It's simple and rectangular shape is fitting for both modern and traditional interiors, as this mirror can be hung in a portrait style as a full-length mirror, or in a landscape direction for a French bistro style mirror on a wall behind a kitchen banquette to add understated glamour and French elegance to any room it enters.

This mirror contains its original mercury glass which sparkles beautifully in the light. The technique of making mercury glass mirrors was retired in the early 1900s. The mercury is fixed behind the glass in a solidified, non harmful state.

Note: Mirrors have been photographed facing fabric, a technique that reveals any age spots in the glass. In some cases, this may create the appearance of an empty frame, but each mirror is complete except where explicitly stated.
