Antique French Wooden Mortar w/ Loop Handle 4¾"

A rare nineteenth-century morter made of ashwood with a single looped handle. A staple accessory in French kitchens, particularly for preparing pistou (like pesto). It would be a lovely piece to display on the kitchen counter for an instant touch of French country. Note - this has been carved from one piece of wood.
