Antique French Louis XVI-style gilded piano bench w/ cane seat 19¾"

A beautiful Louis XVI-style gilded piano bench for two people circa 1900s, France. This pretty bench features a long oval seat with gilded cane and a beautifully decorated gilded wood frame. There are six Louis XVI-style fluted asparagus legs with die joins at the top and little feet below. The feet are connected by a curved and concave spacer in gilded wood decorated with pearling and a central circle design. The gilding on the wood frame shows traces of red gesso beneath its glimmering patina. A graceful and lightweight ceremonial piece that can easily move around from place to place. Whether accompanying a piano, placed at the foot of a bed, or in front of a window to provide additional seating in a living area, this piece is destined to bring an instant touch of French elegance to any space it enters.
