Antique French Louis XIV gilded barometer 38½"

A charming Louis XIV-period French barometer dating from the late seventeenth to early eighteenth century. Note the impressive scale and gilded scrolling acanthus leaves ensconcing the wood frame painted with a bright green accent color. A delightful way to add a touch of Louis XIV style to an entry or living room wall. 

The temperature is indicated in mercury which will be carefully wrapped upon shipment. Recommended for decorative use only. Note woodworm and some losses.
