Antique French hand-turned wooden mortar & pestle 6¼"

A lovely nineteenth-century hand-turned wooden mortar and pestle set from a private collection in the south of France. Note the pretty shape and elegant details throughout. A staple accessory in French kitchens, particularly for preparing pistou (like pesto). It would be a lovely piece to display on the kitchen counter for an instant touch of French country. Note the woodworm holes as seen in photos consistent with age.
