A stunning painting signed by the artist, Pierre Gaston Rigaud (1876-1939) in the bottom left, this scene depicts a cathedral in Paris with lovely stained glass. The medium is gouache on paper with pencil or charcoal details framed behind glass.

After being a student at the Bordeaux School of Fine Arts in 1894, he was a student at the Beaux-Arts in Paris from 1895 to 1898 in the workshops of Léon Bonnat, Gustave Moreau and Albert Maignan. He was a founding member of the Society of Friends of Cathedrals in 1912. French museums have acquired his works: the Luxembourg Museum, Nantes, Angoulême, Troyes, Tour-du-Pin, Mulhouse, and Montmorillon at the Bordeaux Museum of Fine Arts. Many paintings by Pierre-Gaston Rigaud are in private collections in France as well.
