Adjustable French candlestick - 19th century 13½"

This is an elegant and petite night candlestick from the nineteenth century. It is portable and the height adjusts very easily and smoothly using the screw on the side. Made of bronze and brass.
In the past it was most likely used as an ambient light source, carried through the house, and habitually placed on a side table or on a piano.
