20th-century tall terracotta "L’épi de faîtage" roof finial from Provence 45¼"

This "l’épi de faîtage" roof finial dates from the 1900s and was once situated on the rooftop of a nice French home in Provence. In lovely condition for its age, the patina consists of natural, unglazed terracotta. This tall clay piece features symmetrical and pointed form which served both aesthetic and practical purposes as a lightning rod. Today, this piece would make a lovely decorative accent to add a touch of Provence to your home or garden.
