This is a pair of magnificent lidded copper cooking pots or daubière, which were used for making stews and casseroles. The pots are from the nineteenth century and the lids still fasten firmly into place. Note the workmanship with the vertical seams in the copper and riveting.
Condition and wear consistent with age and use.
