Dating from the mid-nineteenth century, this classic Louis Philippe mirror has a pretty silvered frame and retains the original glass. The frame is decorated with subtle floral motifs. Some wear, repairs and losses as seen in photos.

Louis Philippe mirrors, named after King Louis Philippe I of France, who reigned from 1830 to 1848, epitomize a style of mirrors that gained popularity during his rule. Distinguished by their simplicity, these mirrors typically feature softly rounded upper corners and are often adorned with modest motifs such as pearls or leaves. The frames are usually made of wood and are either gilded or silvered.
Note: Mirrors have been photographed facing fabric, a technique that reveals any age spots in the glass. In some cases, this may create the appearance of an empty frame, but each mirror is complete except where explicitly stated.
