Made in the Mediterranean village of Aubagne in the nineteenth century, this lovely round serving bowl features two pretty 'ear' handles. It can be used for serving soup, small sides such as couscous and rice or displayed in a collection of antique French pottery. Pottery in Aubagne, France, has a rich history dating back centuries.

Known for its traditional craftsmanship, Aubagne pottery has roots in utilitarian ceramics, evolving over time to include decorative and artistic pieces. Initially centered around producing everyday items like plates, jars, and tiles, Aubagne's pottery industry thrived due to its proximity to Marseille and the Mediterranean trade routes. The region's clay deposits and skilled artisans contributed to its reputation for durable and finely crafted pottery.

Condition and wear consistent with age and use.
