A splendid, rustic dough bowl made of mountain pine from the Haute Savoie eastern alpine region of France. Dating from the end of the nineteenth century, wooden vessels such as this were originally used to mix bread dough. Today, they make charming rustic centerpieces in tablescapes, filled with fruit, ornaments and foliage, or serve as attractive vessels for storing produce or other items on shelves.
