Longchamp faience, produced in the town of Longchamp in Burgundy, France, has a rich history dating back to its establishment in 1832 by Jean-Pierre Foucard. Initially known for its durable earthenware, the factory gained fame in the 19th century for its high-quality ironstone faience, popular for both everyday use and decorative purposes. In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Longchamp expanded its range to include elaborately decorated pieces influenced by Art Nouveau and Art Deco styles. The factory also became renowned for its majolica and sculptural fruit plates, which were highly decorative and showcased the artisans' craftsmanship.
