This very rare strawberry planter dates from the nineteenth-century. It is from Languedoc Rousillon and is made from terracotta with green glaze. Designed to be wall mounted and planted with strawberries - making the sweet fruit easily accessible for harvesting, but out of reach of snails and critters. 

Condition and wear consistent with age and use.
