19th Century French painting of Avignon and the Palais des Papes 17¼" x 13"

This superb oil on canvas dates from the late nineteenth-century and is signed Anselme. The urban landscape is of the famous Palais des Papes in Avignon on the Rhone River. The frame is gilt stucco and also dates from the late nineteenth-century. A second similar painting of Villeneuve-lès-Avignon is also available.
