19th century French document trunk covered in parchment 15¾"

A pretty document trunk, covered in parchment from the early nineteenth-century (quite possibly even the eighteenth-century). The trunk is wooden and the parchment has been attached with pretty little nails. Special papers, letters and documents were stored in trunks such as this.
