This splendid large antique cruche from the nineteenth century comes from the Val de Saône area north of Lyon, France. With designs characteristic of this celebrated pottery region, observe the lovely yellow vertical squiggles decorated with triple dots overtop the faded brown demi-glaze. Ewers like these were used for fetching water from the village fountain for domestic use. This piece would be the perfect addition to an existing collection of pottery or transformed into a table lamp to add a special touch of French to your home.
