Jean-Pierre Paul Gelibert was a renowned watercolorist and animal painter. Born in La Force, in the Aude in 1802, he died in the Hautes Pyrenees at La Barthe de Neste on September 24, 1882 in Labarthe de Neste, (Hautes Pyrenees), at the age of 80. He was a Professor at the School of Fine Arts in Toulouse, he exhibited at the Salon from 1835 to 1880.
