Boulenger & Cie, was a prominent French silverware manufacturer established in Paris in 1810 by M. Boulenger-Hautin. The company was known for producing high-quality silver-plated tableware and flatware, and it became one of the key suppliers of silverware to the French National Marine.
In 1864, Adolphe Boulenger took over the business, which remained under family control until the early 20th century. The firm gained significant recognition and was awarded several prizes at international exhibitions, including the Paris Exposition Universelle in 1878, the Cairo Exhibition in 1929, and others. After Adolphe Boulenger's death in 1898, his son Charles Boulenger continued the business, operating under the name Ch. Boulenger & Cie.
Boulenger's silverware is highly regarded for its elegant designs, often reflecting the neoclassical Louis XVI style, and it remains collectible today. The company continued its operations until it was eventually absorbed by Olier & Caron in the early 20th century.
This 19th-century Louis XVI style silverplate tea and coffee service, crafted by Boulenger, exemplifies the fine craftsmanship and refined aesthetic that made Boulenger a distinguished name in French silverware..
