Wasp trap, 19th-century, blown-glass

This blown-glass wasp and fly trap dates from the nineteenth century. The trap works by placing sugary syrup in the base of the receptacle, which attracts the  insects and prevents their escape. This vessel is an elegant shape and rests on three pressed glass feet.
