19th century antique French gilded mirror 32¾" x 25¼"

A lovely antique French water-gilded mirror with a gold leaf diagonal ripple architecture to its frame similar to a barley twist. Circa 1830 with original mercury plate glass. This mirror will complement both modern and classic interiors and can be hung both vertically and horizontally. The perfect way to add a touch of French charm to your home!  

Note: This mirror contains its original mercury glass which sparkles beautifully in the light. The technique of making mercury glass mirrors was retired in the early 1900s. The mercury is fixed behind the glass in a solidified, non-harmful state.
