A marvelous, grand-scale pique cierge candlestick dating from the late eighteenth century and originally holding its post in an Italian church. This floor candlestick is made of carved wood painted with gilt accents. Formerly converted into a lamp at a later time with three lights, now its purpose has returned to being more decorative. A stunning piece to decorate a living room or entry hall. If planning to be used as a lamp, note it will need rewiring. Also note the faux candle at the top is a bit off-kilter and the metal stand beneath could benefit from a bit of love to re-straighten and make sure the lampshade sits levelly.
Condition and wear consistent with age and use.
