This remarkable 18th-century French secrétaire vitrine, crafted in the style of Hache, originates from Grenoble and showcases the exceptional woodworking associated with the Hache family. Known for their exquisite craftsmanship during the 18th century, the Hache dynasty produced some of the finest furniture in France, celebrated for their innovative designs, fine marquetry, and elegant proportions.
This piece is crafted from walnut with a gracefully curved design. The front and sides are gabled, with elegant cabriole legs supporting the piece. The upper vitrine section features a glass-fronted cabinet with some original and replaced panes, while the lower drop-front bureau opens to reveal a workspace, with little drawers and a secret storage compartment.
