Dating from the eighteenth century, a beautiful pair of colorful glazed earthenware cachepot planters from a private collection in the south of France. Note their vibrant colors as shown in close-up photos and charming twisted handles. Likely from a faience in Rouen, Normandy.
After first placing a watertight lining inside, they could be used to each chill a bottle of wine or serve as lovely homes for potted plants. These would look superb with bulbs like tulips, amaryllis, or hyacinths.
