This lovely antique French gilded mirror dates from the eighteenth century and includes its original mercury plate glass similar to what was used in the Hall of Mirrors in Versailles. With its simple exterior frame and delicate lamb's tongue details enhancing the innermost part of the frame, this mirror will complement both modern and classic interiors and can be hung both vertically and horizontally. A perfect way to add a touch of French charm to your home.

Note: This mirror contains its original mercury glass which sparkles beautifully in the light. The technique of making mercury glass mirrors was retired in the early 1900s. The mercury is fixed behind the glass in a solidified, non-harmful state.

Condition and wear consistent with age and use.
