Dating from the eighteenth century, this superb, rustic kitchen buffet or deux corps is made from oak with a recently applied blue patina to the inside of the top section. Made in the Ile-de-France region (that includes Paris). Stamped with the cabinet maker's initials GA, possibly for the ebeniste Gailliard, Antoine. All original hardware except for the locks.
The bottom section has one shelf, the top has three insert shelves that have been remade. Modifications have been made as it has been restored. Please note the top as depicted in the photographs with its slightly off-kilter nature, adding charm to its unique character. Keys are in working condition.
