18th century 2 drawer commode with red marble

An exquisite two drawer commode from the eighteenth-century. The red marble top hangs over the back side by a couple of inches - this is intentional and a sign of quality. It allowed for air to circulate behind the commode to avoid damage from humidity from masonry walls. The book leaf inlay craftsmanship is superb. Retains original bronze hardware.
