17th century Italian oak desk - 48½" x 26½"

This rare oak desk dates from the seventeenth-century and was made in the Italian Alps - note the simple floral carvings and patterns around the skirt. The top is fatigued leather (not original but very old). The handles were replaced in the eighteenth-century. Repairs and modifications have been made to this superb table throughout the centuries. Very heavy.
